behind the scenes: let it snow!

ahhh... i felt the need to do a winter post. it is so cold here in the chicagoland area & i wanted to share some images i actually took last year. the above image was shot at the morton arboretum (one of my favorite local places).

inspired by my mom's birthday request, i created the above seasons collection (available here!) by allowing some of the original color to come through the sepia tones.

this shot i took last winter after a huge snowstorm. it was so fresh & beautiful. i snuck into a local county club after getting the kids from school. earlier that day i had driven by & just had to go back home to get my camera. the row of trees were so perfect and all was so still & quiet.

the purity of the fresh snow reminded me of this verse from Isaiah 1:18:

Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

may that encourage your heart on this cold, winter night!

grace & peace,
julie
